Introduction

We would like to welcome you to the Griffin Nursery, It has been on this site since 1989.

On 1st June 2009 the Maitlands bought the Nursery, four of us in all, Geoff, wife Elaine, son Philip and his wife Victoria.

We would also like to introduce you to Karen Clays and Sue Meeson who are managing the Nursery. Sue and Karen have managed a nursery for six years and worked together in the the Lydiate area for a total of 13 years.

We have a vision that we would like to share with you.
We believe that all children are born with a gift , our aim is to find that gift, nurture, explore and develop it.

We have always actively strived to create a nursery where all children are welcome, making learning fun for all. Our aim is to give children the chance to become independent yet sensitive towards other children's needs within the nursery, to gain confidence through praise and encouragement and be well prepared for 'Big School'.

NURSERY EDUCATIONAL GRANT

We are registered to accept children who receive the Nursery Educational Grant:

Every child is entitled to the NEG, giving 15 hours per week of free nursery education, with effect from the beginning of the term following the child’s third birthday

This allows your child to start off in the baby room and move onto the over 2’s room where activities are more structured. Your child can stay within the nursery until ‘Big School’, enabling your child to have the continuity of care, forging strong bonds and friendships with other children and staff.

If you would like to look around the Nursery and meet the team please call Karen or Sue on
0151 931 1853.
