Griffin Nursery... The Griffin Nursery is now under New Management... Ideal for parents living in Bootle, Maghull, Litherland and Crosby...

What will I Be Doing?

The nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. All activities are child initiated and weekly plans are displayed on the parents' notice board. A Parents' activity sheet is also displayed to encourage parents to become involved with their childs' learning and development.

Our children have access to a large hall space two day per week where our qualified Professional Dance Teacher leads them in dance, rhythm, music and movement.

We also have the use of Children’s Centre where children can explore a different environment and access the many activities associated with it.

Extra Curricular

For under twos' includes :- Gentle hand and foot massage
For over twos' Spanish, IT skills and Road Safety
We have a longstanding link with other statutory agencies within the borough e.g. Speech Therapist, Dental Care, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Community Police. Parents may use the nursery for child reviews with these agencies. We can also accommodate parents who breast feed.

'How's It Going?'

Biannually, each child receives a progress report in order to keep parents up to date with their child's development in the nursery. Parents can write a reflection on their child's report. The set of reports is presented to each child as a momento of nursery life.

The report is broken down into the key areas of learning:

  • Personal, Social & Emotion Development.
  • Communiction, Language and Literacy.
  • Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy.
  • Knowledge & Understandfing of the World.
  • Physical Development.
  • Creative Development.

Outdoor Play

Is an important part of nursery life, giving children a chance to explore their environment. We have a large secure garden which has protective safety matting and importantly is situated away from roads so that your children are not breathing in car fumes. The children also benefit from the local amenities including the library and shopping for fresh vegetables from our local green grocers and purchasing meat from the butchers. We welcome everyone to the nursery, making sure that every child has access to our wide range of equipment and activities. We are keen to share information between staff and parents relating to cultures, children with English as a second language and children with specific needs.
